Exercise
I am extremely unmotivated to exercise. This excerpt from www.intuitiveeating.com gave me a new perspective. Especially the last sentence… story of my life.
9. Exercise–Feel the Difference Forget militant exercise. Just get active and feel the difference. Shift your focus to how it feels to move your body, rather than the calorie burning effect of exercise. If you focus on how you feel from working out, such as energized, it can make the difference between rolling out of bed for a brisk morning walk or hitting the snooze alarm. If when you wake up, your only goal is to lose weight, it’s usually not a motivating factor in that moment of time.

It’s true. The ONLY reason I workout in the mornings is that it makes me feel IMMENSELY better throuought the workday. Seriously…it makes a HUGE difference. I go from wanting to murder my asshole co-workers, to generally only wanting to punch them in the face! See? HUGE difference! =)
That’s exactly why I burned out and not wanted to go the gym (the last sentence).I am doing it for how it makes me feel and it’s also making me much more confident in myself as I progress in what I can do physically.
That is soooo true. I used to think if I were not getting in my normal routine like 60 to 100 laps in the pool or 30 minutes on the bike then I just wouldn’t do anything. But it’s okay to just do SOMETHING. Sometimes just doing 20 laps or 10 minutes on the bike is better than nothing. And usually once I get moving I always do more! Also, someone recently said something on here that I think of everyday and it has helped me tremendously when I don’t feel like exercising - YOU GET THE BODY YOU EXERCISE FOR. Good luck!
This blog is spot on. This morning when my alarm went off, the 1st thought that went through my head was “stay in bed girl. One morning off wont kill you. You can do your cardio after work”. But thrn I realised that after work I’d have another excuse not to go. I realised how good I’d feel after my run.
And you know what, I feel fantastic now sitting at my desk knowing that I did 35 minutes of running and 20 minutes of weights.
I totally agree with what you said in your blog. I will have to keep that in mind when I want to hit the snooze button. when I have a few minutes I will check out the website you recommended.
